Most pencil skirts are difficult to walk in and make you feel constricted. We still love the silhouette of this classic skirt, so we made ours with a front slit that allows you to actually move, fully functioning front pockets (hallelujah), and a high waistband that is perfect for tucking.

Our model, Belle, is 5'9" and wears a Small in this skirt.

  Size Guide

Sizing NotesFit is the same as The Ponte Pant. Long for petite women

Should have listened to the other reviewers! If you're a petite gal, this will be long on you, and it looks a little overly conservative (I'm a size S and 5'4, so it's not like I'm miniature). Also, it's not brought in at the hem line, so it hands a little boxy instead of with an hourglass shape. I think I'll have it tailored, because the material is good quality, but of course that ups the already considerable price.

Buy this skirt people.

Not only is it super flattering and comfortable, but also Brass was so helpful and chill about letting me try on multiple sizes until I was completely satisfied with my purchase.

I'm 5'4", wear 27/28 in jeans, and got a small. I did try on the medium, and I easily could've been happy with that as well, but I preferred the tighter fit (and slightly shorter length) of the small.

Skirt Perfection

This is basically the ideal office skirt. It has enough stretch to be comfortable. It has enough structure to smooth things out in a flattering way. And it's actually long enough for a tall-ish (5'9") person. I would get this in multiple colors if it was available.

10/10 recommend.

difficult fit

The fabric is high quality and it has the great waistband of the ponte pants. But the fit just wasn't quite right for me; it's just tight enough across the hips that the skirt scrunches up and looks sloppy around the pockets. I have to tug at it constantly to make it lay flat. But any bigger, and the waistband would have been too loose. Probably a better fit for athletic types.

Bulges at Hips

I have narrow hips but a slightly larger butt. The skirt rides up as I walk and puckers out on the side by my hip bones. I would say I have an athletic build, very straight up and down (with a shapely butt). This puckering happens from time to time when skirts are built with the curve in the wrong spot. The material and it seems well constructed. Unfortunately not for me.
