WHAT EXACTLY IS THE CLEAN OUT BAG?

The Clean Out Bag is a pre-paid mailer that you can put old clothing and textiles in. Write your return address on the label, seal it up, and drop it off at any USPS location. The Clean Out Bag comes with a postcard that helps you decide what to keep and what to recycle, and has your Brass credit code printed on it. We also sometimes include fun stickers :)

HOW MUCH CAN I FIT IN THE BAG?

Each bag can hold about 5lbs of clothing.

WHAT SHOULD I PUT IN THE BAG?

If your clothing still has value and can be re-worn, we recommend reselling via second hand sites like Poshmark and Tradesy. You can also donate your clothing to worthy charities, like Dress for Success or local shelters. The best items to send to the recycling facility are those that cannot be re-worn or reused, like items with holes, tears, and stains.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY CLOTHES?

Our recycling partner facility is located in North Carolina. 99.5% of all items are either recycled (shredded for use as rags, insulation, rug backing, etc) or upcycled (if able to be reworn, these items will be sold via second hand). A very small percentage of items cannot be recycled, for example if the items are damp and could contain bacteria.

WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH THE BRASS CREDIT?

Each Clean Out Bag comes with $10 in Brass credit. There is a postcard in the envelop which contains the code for your credit. The credit does not expire and can be used on a future purchase over $50.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I ORDER MULTIPLE BAGS?

You will receive credit for each bag you purchase. If you receive more than $20 in credit, we will combine the credit into one total credit amount. It is easier for you to use on our website this way.

CAN I USE A CLEAN OUT BAG IN CANADA?

Unfortunately we are not set up to ship clothing from Canada to our partner facility in North Carolina at this time. We are looking for alternative options for our Canadian friends!
